Board President Yocum called the regular board meeting to order with all of the board members present except for Falk.

Craghead moved to approve the agenda with the following additions:  deleting a name for substitute employment, and adding an employment resignation.  Hund seconded.   Motion carried 6-0. 

The district principals updated the board in regards to the rescheduling of events due to the ice storm.

Transportation/Maintenance Director Joe Zeller noted that power was still out in numerous areas within the district.  He had been driving the country roads which were still in bad shape.

Craghead moved to approve the consent agenda.  Silva seconded.  Motion carried 6-0.  The consent agenda included: Approved the November12th Regular Meeting; Approved the Treasurer’s report; Approved payment of bills totaling $95,583.19; Accepted the PDC minutes from December 4th; Approved WHS Site Council Members; and Accepted the Food Service Director’s report.

There was a second reading of Bullying Policy, JDDC.   Yocum moved to approve Board Policy JDDC.  McCue seconded.  Motion carried 6-0.

Breiner moved to  close out the Summer School Fund stating that the summer school fund is no longer serving the original purpose and that we will transfer the balance to the K-12 At-Risk Fund.  Hund seconded.  Motion carried 6-0.

Following some discussion regarding eligibility, Craghead moved to adopt the amended eligibility policy, striking the last paragraph.  McCue seconded.  Motion carried 6-0.

Yocum moved to regretfully accept Diane Flerlage’s resignation as WHS secretary.  Breiner seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

Yocum moved to approve Jena Parker as an Emergency Substitute Teacher.  Hund seconded.  Motion carried 6-0.

The following was discussed in the Superintendent/Board Members Forum:  update on the start-up of day-care at Alma and Maple Hill; Board Member McCue summarized the seminar she attended in support of Pre-K education; KASB Annual convention review by Supt. Mahan and Board Member Duane Hund; Update of meeting with the teachers’ organization; and discussion of alternative energy sources.

Yocum moved to adjourn.  Silva seconded.  Motion carried 6-0.  The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 PM.
