Homecoming 2021 Details

Wabaunsee High School’s Homecoming week will kick off Sunday, September 12th. Window painting will be downtown on Sunday from 2:00-4:00. Each class will paint a window. The school week will start off with a spirit day each day with Disney as the theme. The days are Monday - Sleeping Beauty (PJ Day), Tuesday - Heros vs Villains, Wednesday - Under the Sea (Beach Attire), Thursday - Tale as Old as Time (Throwback Thursday), and Friday - Charger Kingdom (Freshmen-white, Sophomores-blue, Juniors-red, Seniors-black). Varsity Tennis will compete at Chapman and Volleyball C-team will play at St. Marys on Monday. Tennis will travel to Baldwin City and Volleyball to Marysville on Tuesday. Thursday Tennis will travel to Ellsworth and Cross Country will run at Northern Heights. Junior High football and volleyball will play at home Thursday. Homecoming activities will take place Friday, September 17th. The evening will start with the crowning before the football game. A dance will follow. The times are as follows:

8:00 - Candidate Breakfast

8:30-9:00 - Class Meetings

9:00 - Crowning practice for cheer, student council, and candidates at the football field

9:00-11:30 - Float Decorating

11:30 am - High School BBQ lunch

11:30 am - 1:15 pm - Float decorating

1:15 pm - Parade line up at the corner of Missouri Avenue and 10th Street. The cheerleaders and band will line up first followed by candidates, high school class floats, and other participants. 

1:30 pm - The parade will go to the Alma Manor then back to Missouri Avenue and go south. All in the parade should turn right on 3rd Street then right onto Kansas Avenue.  

Following parade - A pep rally at the corner of Missouri and 3rd Street. 

6:20 pm - Crowning at the football field 

7:00 pm - The Chargers kick off the football game

Dance -  9:00 pm (or end of the game) - approx 11:00 pm in the High School Commons for high school students.
Admission is $2 a person.
