It's that time of the year again, and the Wabaunsee High School students are preparing to go to prom Saturday evening.
There have been several changes to this year's prom schedule and location, here is the official timeline for the day's festivities.
Prom 2023: April 1, “Let’s Glow Crazy”
4:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. - Promenade at Courthouse
Prom has moved from Newbury to Holy Family Catholic Church in Alma. Instead of promenading into the venue, attendees will be presented at the courthouse. In addition to announcing names, each couple or attendee has a “walk-out song” to accompany their arrival. Community members are welcome to attend. Students will enter on the north door and line up inside, to come out the front doors of the courthouse. Students need to line up at the north doors at 4:35 p.m.
Following Promenade - Junior & Senior Class photos / candids at Courthouse
Tracy Capoun and Kaytlyn Meseke will be taking photos, and family members are welcome to take pictures as well.
5:40 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Mocktails at Flint Hills Yoga Studio
306 Missouri, Alma
One of the new additions to the schedule are mocktails for attendees and their dates. This is being held at the Flint Hills Yoga Studio and is being put on by Heather Beggs and other parent volunteers.
This will be a come-and-go with a couple treats: “faux-cocktails” (mocktails) and a decorated place to take candid photos.
6:30 p.m. - Attendees may enter the Hall
Professional photos (couples & individuals) at the Hall will be available until 8:15, and attendees can begin finding their seats.
7:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m. - Dinner
Either chicken alfredo or lasagna will be provided by parents.
8:00 p.m. - Program
In addition to the prom video, class representatives will offer a toast and welcome.
8:30-10:30 p.m. - Dance, DJ Jamie Rogers
After Prom doors close at 11:00 p.m. 11:00 - 3:00 a.m.
