Dear families of Maple Hill Elementary,
With mixed emotions, I write to inform you that Maple Hill Elementary School will be closing its doors at the end of this academic year. While we understand this news may come as a shock, please know that this decision was made after carefully considering our district's current and projected enrollment numbers and the financial resources needed to maintain multiple campuses.
We are pleased to share with you that all current Maple Hill students will be transferred to Alma
Elementary Campus, which has been renamed Wabaunsee Elementary School. They will continue receiving an excellent education in a nurturing and supportive environment there. This consolidation will allow us to offer even more robust academic programs, enhanced extracurricular activities, and better resources to all our students.
Our district's priority has always been to provide high-quality education and ensure the safety and
well-being of our students. We are confident that the Wabaunsee Elementary Campus will provide the same exceptional level of care and education that Maple Hill Elementary School has provided for many years.
We understand that this transition may raise some questions or concerns, and we encourage you to contact us if you need any support or have any questions. We will host an informational session for you on Thursday, April 13th, at 6 pm in the MHES gym and provide regular updates to ensure this transition is as smooth as possible for all students and families.
We want to thank you for your continued support of our district and for entrusting us with your
children's education. We are committed to ensuring that all our students receive the best education possible and are confident that this consolidation will allow us to continue to provide that for many years to come.
