Three Alma Elementary students placed at state in the Alma Ladies Reading Circle writing competition. These students wrote poems last spring as first graders. After placing in the local competition, the students work advanced to the state level. Samuel Ringel’s poem “Out In The Pen” placed first in the state competition. Landry Weisshaar’s poem “In My Basement” placed second. Lauren Amick’s poem “I Got It At Walmart” placed third. Their individual pieces will now advance to a nation level competition. Congratulations to these students and good luck at the next level!
