From Coach Fisher: Last day of JH football camp (today) canceled due to extreme heat and possibly strong storms.

It is the last week to sign up for Compass Academy! We are having a great time and would love for you to join us! The program is Monday-Friday from 9:00-3:30. We provide lunch and two snacks as well!

WHS Spirit Squad members attended a UCA summer camp this year and brought home some hardware! Congratulations to the team for a 2nd place finish in the spirit competition and 1st place in the dance competition! Kennedy Weisshaar, Kendra Conrad, Addy Beavers and Lea Huske made the All-Star Cheerleader Team as well! Congratulations to our Spirit Squad on your hard work!

Calling ALL 6th - 9th graders for Compass Academy! Thank you to those of you that were able to stop by and say hi during our party at the park! More 6th - 9th graders are needed for this program to happen. We are challenging each of our enrolled participants to invite at least one friend to sign up for Compass to help us meet the requirement of 30-40 participants. Your name will be put into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate (of your choice) for every student you refer that signs up. Participants do not have to attend Wabaunsee Schools to sign up. As a reminder, the academy is for students entering grades 6-9 in the 2025-26 school year. For more information, please email: jmumpower@compassacademynetwork.org.

Last week, Wabaunsee High School students Mya Huske and Isabelle Stuhlsatz traveled to Dodge City to participate in the Kansas Masonic All-State High School Marching Band Camp. In addition to several other performances throughout the week, they had the honor of performing at the Kansas Shrine Bowl on Saturday, June 21. Congratulations to Mya and Isabelle on being selected for this prestigious annual event!

There will not be a conditioning session with Coach Alderman this Friday, June 27 or Friday, July 4. We'll start back up Friday, July 11.

Attention upcoming 6th-9th grade students: There is still time to sign up for the Compass Academy happening at Wabaunsee Junior High July 7-August 1. We will be having an informational meet and greet at the Alma City Park on Sunday, June 22 from 3:00-5:00. If you have already signed up, bring a friend to sign up, and you will be entered into a drawing for a gift card!

Saturday, 6/14, the 5th–8th grade Chargers had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from Basketball Hall of Famer Lynette Woodard and Coach Deb Newkirk during a special clinic at WHS! We are beyond grateful to those two inspiring women for sharing their knowledge, energy, and passion with our young athletes. Starting Friday, June 13 Coach Alderman will hold a general conditioning session each Friday. It is open to all Wabaunsee students entering 6th-12th grades. Meet at the WHS Commons at 7:00 AM and we'll be done between 8:00 and 8:15.
