Dear Wabaunsee High School Families,
Today, I was notified by the Wabaunsee County Health Department that a student at Wabaunsee High School has tested positive for COVID-19.
We are in contact with the Wabaunsee County Health Department and will take the steps necessary to protect the health of our students and staff. The individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and their close contacts will not be allowed to return to school for at least 14 days. The anticipated date of return for these individuals is 10/9/20; though this may change depending on persistence/development of symptoms. If you have questions about what precipitates close contact please contact the Wabaunsee County Health Dept.
The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to the regular seasonal influenza and include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath. Some have reported additional symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. Individuals who need medical care should call their medical provider to report their illness prior to seeking care at a clinic, physician’s office, or hospital. Parents of students exhibiting flu-like symptoms or staff exhibiting flu-like symptoms are asked to contact your local health authorities or the Wabaunsee County Health Department.
We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide you with updates as we know more. As in all cases if you have concerns your student(s) may attend remotely. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Brad Starnes
Superintendent

All parents fill out for your children in USD329.
We need your help. Please complete the form listed below. An explanation is included within the form. Being TLIM proactive, if we ever needed to go to a remote learning environment we'd need to have a form on file for each student. Thanks!
