Tate Wenderott, 8th grade~ Advanced Art Student, has been doing a lot of pencil drawings this semester. He had just finished up his last project, drawing The White House. We were talking and both came up with the idea, that doing a picture of The Brandt House would be perfect, as it has just opened recently! "Alma’s historic hotel, was built in 1887 by Joseph and Christena Brandt. The limestone building is of the Italianate style and has always been a cornerstone of downtown Alma. The hotel was restored and reopened to guests in 2025 with seven rooms and a guest lounge. Brandt House prides itself on preserving its historic charm while offering modern hospitality for today's travelers." Great job, Tate!

I am so glad that Ms. Heather, a Para at WES, was in my classroom the day I was presenting about and having the students work on the redesigning of the Wabaunsee County Sherrif's Patch (contest)! She just happened to be filling in for someone. Knowing that she enjoys doing art; I said, "Ms. Heather, you should participate!" She did, and I submitted the entries along with my students'... and look what happened (click link- to find out more info)... she won! Congratulations!!
